Wine Tasting 102: Making it Fancy (ish)- Nov. 7th

CA$95.00

If you’ve taken Wine Tasting 101: It Tastes like Grapes with us before, you know we love to focus on the structure of wines as much as flavour, and when these elements come together in harmony that is one of the most exciting things to happen in wine. We (together with much of the wine community, though many opinions differ…) believe that certain aspects of this balance are what makes a wine really, deeply delicious. How can you tell what’s delicious to you versus what might appeal to other people, however, and what makes a wine “objectively” good?

In class we like to pour a range of wines at different price-points, and sometimes the class favourite is far from the most expensive. In this class, we’ll pit some bargain bottles against some pricey ones and try and get under the skin of what makes certain wines “good” and what makes some wines simply expensive (spoiler alert: they’re not always one in the same…) We’ll also delve into what makes certain wines cellar-worthy and how to organize yourself to have the right groupings of wines to host a bangin’ wine soirée (the holidays will soon be upon us.. eep!)

So, if you’re ready to put your senses to the test and see if you can spot the more expensive bottle, or if you’re interested in debunking the myth that pricier is always better, join us!

This is a two-hour evening class hosted on Thursday, Nov 7th, 2024

6pm-8pm in Chinatown, Vancouver, BC.
